5 Essential Oils You Don't Want to Live Without

Essential oils are a compound that is extracted from a plant, and they often release pleasant fragrances and possess healing properties. These oils are the most natural type available, and they serve many purposes. Some people use them for culinary adventures while others use them to heal ailments. Essential oils in your beauty cabinet are a necessary investment, and can make your life healthier and more aromatic. Here are five oils that you shouldn’t live without:

Clove Oil

Clove oil is richly aromatic, but it is also healing and antimicrobial for the mouth. It’s an antiseptic, and it also provides oral pain relief naturally. Clove oil can be strong, but it is well worth having on hand at all times. Using it daily mixed in with a water mouthwash can dramatically improve oral health. This all-purpose oil also treats the common cold, coughs and bronchitis. Simply Earth is one company that offers high-quality clove oil.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil gains much of its popularity from being a famous acne treatment. It works for acne because it is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory. It is a great oil for using on skin infections, soothe itching, and maintain clear skin.

This fragrant and beautiful smelling oil is a necessary addition to any woman’s medicine cabinet. It is a natural stand-in for perfume. It smells seductive, and it is a known aphrodisiac. While this oil is purely for fragrance, it is one of the best investments you can make for a perfume collection.

Calendula Oil

Calendula is a simple flower that is related to geraniums. It can cause allergic reactions, but it is generally well tolerated. Calendula oil has a soothing effect on the skin, and it can treat numerous skin irritation problems. Organic baby products also contain this oil. Simply Earth offers calendula in a pure form for your medicine cabinet needs.

This oil has been used for centuries, and it is still a favorite around the world. Lavender is soothing, relaxing and smells beautiful. It has the power to help with insomnia and stress. It can be applied to stings and burns as it helps reduce the pain. It also boosts blood flow that assists in wound healing. It soothes migraines and headaches and also softens the skin. Lavender can even be used as a massage oil. Lavender is an all around fantastic oil to have at all times. Without this in your cabinet, you are certainly missing out.

Essential oils are a great way to put an extra pep in your step or calm you down after a long day of work. If you are noticing a bit of stress or fatigue, consider picking up a few of the aforementioned oils to help you replenish your spirit.

I have tried tea tree oil for acne and it did work well, although you only need to use a very small amount or you will be smelling it for days! (it smells very strong). I just recently read an article that claimed lavender can be used as a fast way to get rid of pimples too, but I’ve never tried it.

I keep telling myself to get some lavender bath for my boy so he’d settle down quicker around bedtime. He fights to the finish!
