As we prepare for the holidays, I’ve been thinking more and more about giving my family more experiences and less things. I’ve been on a purging spree not to prep for more stuff, but to clear our home, make it more manageable and also to help fund an upcoming vacation. I’m not quite sure where we’ll adventure to next, but I have my eye on some place warm. Somewhere in Florida would be grand. I can see ourselves in Gulf County. There are so many unique experiences in Gulf County and hey, it’s warm! I made a wishlist of activities we’d love to check out and turn into traditions. Take a look and imagine yourself in these great adventures.
Go On a Sea Turtle Treasure Hunt
The boys would love to go on a sea turtle treasure hunt. I love that this unique activity helps protect baby sea turtles by marking nestings and building screens around them. This is a great way to teach compassion.
Kayak Through the Dead Lakes
I’ve always wanted to go kayaking. Paddling around the shallows in the South Flats would definitely be an unforgettable experience. One that I’d love to capture with a GoPro.
Tupelo Honey – Love Your Bees
Tupelo is a premier honey crop in the US, and the epicenter of tupelo honey is in Gulf County. Smiley Honey, provider of the tupelo crop, offers honey tasting and a little 101 on bees. Did you know that 50-80% of the entire world’s food supply is directly or indirectly affected by the honeybee? I’d love to learn more of these fun facts while noshing on some delicious honey.
These are a few adventures I’d absolutely love to take my family on. Visit the Gulf County Adventure Guide for more fun activities and sights to see!
Get out and play. Share the moment. Feel More with Gulf County Florida.
