Juicy had the winning onesie!
After only three hours of labor, Akilah Skye made her dainty debut August 16, 2015 at 8:23 am. Following in her big brothers’ booties, she also arrived at 38 weeks. Her stats were 7lbs 3oz, 19 1/2in. She has since gained 9oz, 1 1/4in. She’s the perfect little nursling and her big brothers adore her.
It’s hard to believe that she’s 12 days old already! The last twelve days have been spent adjusting to… everything! She was born on the 16th, we were discharged on the 18th, and Jayden started school on the 19th! Needless to say, things have been cray. We’ve been adjusting to our new normal… new baby, back to school season, re-emerging terrible two’s, and work schedules. Nope, there’s no such thing as maternity leave ’round here. I’m working towards my version, though.
I guess a birth story is next in order. Akilah was my quickest labor to date so there’s not much to share or maybe there is. Seriously, if things didn’t align the way they did, I probably could have had her at home! She was definitely ready. I’m sure I’ll be back with a 700 worded account of our delivery and hospital stay once my brain recharges.
Thanks again for ALL of the congrats, well wishes, and kind words throughout the pregnancy and after her arrival. (Shout outs to Brandi, Heather, and Kimberly!) We really appreciate them! I’ll be choosing a winner from the gender guess giveaway at random. I’ll update the post when I do and will contact the winner thereafter.

Congrats!!! She's adorable. I miss that stage with my babies. I know it's cliche, but they grow up too fast. :)

Congrats on the baby girl, they are so sweet. I have a son and our bond is great but much different from the one I have with my four year old daughter.
