Summer’s here and I’m all about sun bathing… wooot wooot! You’ll have to excuse me, but my enthusiasm is off the chain. I absolutely LIVE for summer after being cooped up in the house for so long during our never-ending winter’s along the Snowbelt. So summer means shopping for fashion essentials including swimwear. Since I am very much pregnant, I’ve had to toss a lot of my swimwear back into my drawer. The only swimsuit that has been working for me happens to also be my absolute favorite, but now for many more reasons.
I present, the Catalina Suddenly Slim Shirred Halter One-Piece. It’s everything. I purchased one in Black/White Polka Dots two years ago. I had been searching for a quality pin up swimsuit within my budget and there, the Catalina was for only thirty bucks at Walmart of ALL places! It was still a bit of a splurge for me, but the suits that I initially lusted after were almost $100! After two years, I’m extremely happy with my $30 spend… so much so that I purchased another in Multi this year. And from the looks of things, I may have to purchase another in a larger size very soon. #thepregnancystruggle
Why The Catalina Suddenly Slim Shirred Halter One-Piece Swimsuit Rocks
For starters, the fabric quality and lining of the suit is very well made. The suit is modest and does a great job at covering and ruching in areas that you may not want to be exposed at the time. When I purchased my first Catalina suit, I was still breastfeeding, which left me depleted in areas. The girls weren’t as perky as they used to be. The Juicy One was sucking me dry. I also had a very noticeable pooch that just wouldn’t fly in a two-piece. The ruching disguised the pooch and added a little extra omph to the rack and volume to my overall shape.
Now, that I’m 7 months pregnant, the suit is doing a great job at covering my extra everythang’s. While I don’t have a problem wearing a two-piece in my pregnant glory (the only time the belly looks presentable), I need the support that a one-piece provides. My belly is about ready to hit the ground, so being enclosed helps. Also, since we do frequent a lot of family friendly venues, I’d like to exercise a little courtesy by staying tucked in. Now if we were going on a cruise headed to paradise, well, I’d probably show out a bit, hahaha.
But in all seriousness though… in the Catalina, I feel very secure, but fashionable at the same time. I’ve been going all around the subject here because I don’t like to get into the whole body type thing, but truth is we are all body conscious whether we feel we have too much of something or too little of something at the time. No matter what season your body is in, the Catalina slays for ALL. So I’m saying… you need it in your life. Get it here (regular size / plus size).
