I have yet to pull out our box of ornaments buried under our stairs and I’m hesitant to do so. Maybe after our trip to the tree farm, I’ll be inspired to make that tight squeeze under the stairs. So naturally when I thought our Peanuts tree needed something extra, I decided to make an ornament using supplies I didn’t have to go diving for.

This Nativity barn ornament is a craft that kids will have a lot of fun with. Their little imaginations are sure to yield some interesting variations. These ornaments are easy to make and only require a few supplies, making for a great activity before curling up with one of your favorite Fox Christmas movies for a movie night with family and friends.

This craft was inspired by the movie . It’s on our holiday movie watch-list. Lucky for us, whenever we’re in the mood for a holiday movie night this season, we can instantly own any Fox Christmas movie by downloading them on iTunes.

Instructions

Arrange your sticks to make the shape of the barn. Place 5 sticks down vertically and glue one stick horizontally  on top to make the base of the barn. Create a roof by arranging the last 2 sticks on top of the 5 vertical sticks.

You’ll need to cut the 5 sticks at an angle to accommodate the roof. With a pencil, mark where you need to cut. Trim the five sticks accordingly.

Make your roof by gluing on the remaining 2 sticks. Trim off the excess from the two sticks.

Paint the barn white. Paint the star gold and add any extra sparkly embellishments. After the house and star are dry, glue the star at the point on top of the barn.

Cut a 4 or 5-inch piece of jute twine and glue it on the back of the Nativity barn ornament.

Once your ornament is complete, you can place it on the tree and then curl up on the couch for a family movie night with your favorite Fox Christmas movie. Turn all the lights off, make some snacks, enjoy the glow of tree, and the beautiful story of BLACK NATIVITY. Download on iTunes today and watch it instantly with your family tonight!
