DIY Valentine Treat Bags & Heart Crayons

Jayden’s class will be having a Valentine’s Day party next Wednesday and as Greg said, I’m going for “best treat”. Hahaha! I wanted to do something fun and creative for his very first Valentine’s Day party, so I put together treat bags with personalized cards from Jayden. I honestly just wanted to have a little fun without intentions of showing anyone up. So don’t hate me, mmkay?

Walmart always has cute little favors for Valentine’s Day, so I grabbed a few things from there to complete this little project. I grabbed some tattoos and mini pens from the seasonal aisle. I also found a heart shaped silicone muffin pan to make heart shaped crayons in. For a sweet and healthy treat, I grabbed some Fruitabu strawberry rolls.

After shopping for goodies, I did a little digital work in Photoshop. I created a simple Valentine’s Day card with a cutout of Jayden and a message to be stapled on to the treat bags. Just an FYI, I designed them backwards. I meant to have the white space up top and the personal card below it so it would fold correctly. I ended up cutting the white part off because I didn’t want to re-design, print, and cut. Now THAT would have been doing the most. So bear with me and my mistake. My mind hasn’t been the sharpest lately… as I’ve had to take on quite a few extra responsibilities.

After the cards were done, it was time to make the crayons (tutorial here), stuff the treat bags and staple the cards on. I had some extra coupons and stickers from my Cuties Juice review, so I decided to share the wealth and throw some in with the rest of the goodies. I am so proud of these little treat bags. I can’t wait to watch Jayden hand them out towards the end of his class!
