Duck Tape Table & Upcycled Frame Vision Board

Our office has been through many phases. Unfortunately, very few of those phases resulted in a clean and organized space. We’ve cleared it out a handful of times only for it to return back to its former state of disaster. We had plans of painting and bringing new furniture into the space, but since we are moving this spring, we’re making do with what we have.

Two weeks ago, we spent hours and hours cleaning, tossing, and organizing the space yet again. We can now see the floor and the surfaces of our tables, haha. Speaking of which, my computer table was looking a little rough, so I decided to grab some Duck Tape and have at it. The makeover only took about 15 minutes and the results were ah-mazing.

Materials
Decorative Duck Tape (enough to cover your surface)
Scissors
Table

Find these materials at Walmart.

Instructions
This project is pretty simple, just smooth each piece of Duck Tape across your surface. Try to keep the lines straight and the bubbles and wrinkles at bay. Cut and trim tape as needed. Feel free to be as creative as you like!

My table looks a whole lot better. It’s so chic and funky. I love it. Next, I’ll have to find or make some curtains.

Creating a vision board has been on my todo list, so I decided to tackle that after my table makeover. I was pretty excited to upcycle the frame that I reserved for this project. It was a Craigslist find seven years ago. We recently had it hanging in the powder room until I found a canvas to replace it. I seize every opportunity to re-purpose, so I held on to the frame for this project.

Materials
Large spare photo frame
Spray paint
Glitter spray paint
Polished hemp twine
Mini clothespins
Hot glue gun
Decorative Duck Tape

Find these materials at Walmart.

Instructions
Remove glass and cardboard backing from frame. Set cardboard aside to be decorated with Duck Tape. Lay frame right side up on a drop cloth and spray paint black. Let dry for 15 minutes.

Lightly dust frame with glitter spray paint. Let paint dry overnight or for a few hours if you’re impatient like I am ;-). Meanwhile, decorate the cardboard with Duck Tape.

Flip frame right side down and hot glue hemp twine in desired positions. It’s best to glue one end of the twine and let it set first. Then, glue down the other end. Give it a tug and hold in place to ensure the strings are tight. Alternatively, if there are staples already positioned inside the frame, you can tightly tie the twine.

Glue or tape decorated cardboard behind the frame. Pin inspiring cutouts to the twine using mini clothespins.
