Essie Nail Colors Hit Walmart Shelves

Essie Nails

This year, I am rebuilding my nail polish collection, making sure that I only buy colors that are 3-free (free of formaldehyde, DBP, and toluene). I’ve been ordering a lot of my colors online because it’s easier to do that than blindly shopping in the cosmetics section without being completely sure of what’s in my nail polish.

When I found out that Essie (a salon quality 3-free brand) nail colors were hitting Walmart stores this month, I was so excited. Essie actually sent me some sample colors and I absolutely love them. The colors I received were (Thumb & Ring Finger) Mink Muffs, (Index & Pinky) Fishnet Stockings, (Middle Finger) Wicked, and (Right Hand) Ballet Slippers. When it comes to nail colors, I truly have no color preference – anything goes with me. One minute I will have black nails, the next electric lime!

All colors except Mink Muffs required a 2nd coat. Mink Muffs actually required 3. The consistency is a little runny, so you have to be careful not to get too much on the brush. The coverage is great, no streaks. And they dry pretty fast too. With normal hand usage, my nails lasted for 4 days without me having to remove the polish.

There are a total of 99 Essie nail colors separated into seasonal and classic collections. Each color retails from $8-$9.50, but there are some available at Walmart.com for $7.75. I am totally not used to paying so much for nail colors, but I’m a big girl now and I strongly believe in spending a few extra bucks on a quality product (for myself for once).

I really want to try Essie’s purifying nail polish remover. It’s paraben free so perhaps when I use it, my allergies won’t start flaring up! If I try it out or find an alternative, I’ll be sure to let y’all know!

If you have any recommendations for 3-free colors and paraben free nail care, I’d love for you to share. I already order from Zoya and Diamond Cosmetics and I know of e.l.f, OPI, Nubar, Orly, and Wet ‘n’ Wild.

8/365: Essie nails. Essie nails.

I am a part of the Walmart Moms program. Walmart has compensated me for the time dedicated to participating in and sharing my experience with Essie’s nail colors with you. Participation is voluntary. As always, all opinions are my own.
