Fall is almost here and I won’t even bother protesting it. While I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to my summer garden, flip flops, or favorite swimsuit, I’m ready for pumpkin everything, layers, and rich earth tones. I’m currently preparing my wardrobe for fall by starting a “to donate” pile and by adding a few pieces to compliment my “uniform”. I gravitate towards earth tones year round, but I really lay them on thick *snicker* during the fall season.
When it comes to my fall uniform, dark denim is a must. I live in jeans during the fall and I find myself cycling through the same three or four pairs. All of those jeans have one thing in common; they are extremely stretchy. Some are even… dare I say… jeggings. Jeggings are the bomb. They are so comfortable, flattering, and no fuss in general.
Having a smaller frame, I’ve had my share of jean drama so when I find something that fits, I stick with it. I like tight, form fitting jeans that hug my body without compressing my shape. Jeggings, since they have a high spandex count, have served me well through various weight transitions and contour to my shape whether I’m up, down, or in-between the thirty pound transition that comes with pregnancy and breastfeeding.

I picked them up on Walmart.com. enticed by price and reviews. I ordered two pair and since I have a poor sense of sizing, the ones that I ordered were too small. I have been conditioned to assume everything will be too big because growing up, things usually were and brand sizing’s pretty fickle these days. So, off to Walmart I went to exchange my Emma’s in-store for a size up and those fit to perfection.
I also grabbed a 3/4 Sleeve Henley by No Boundaries. While it looks like a thermal top, it is actually quite thin, perfect for layering. While I tend to hate the cold, I also get hot very easily so being able to layer is a must for me. The colors and pattern on the henley are everything. Tribal and boho patterns in rich earth tones are my jam. I can never get enough of brown, burnt orange, and teal. I have a thing for tortoise accessories and bronze jewelry so these pair well with my color palette.
My beauty choices change a bit with the transition of fall. While I love the natural and effortless look, in the fall I tend to wear deeper and richer tones of lip color and nail polish. Deep purples and magentas give a nice contrast.
I complete my fall uniform with flats. I looove me some moccasins… the stitching… the fringe… beaded embellishments? LOVE them ALL!
Do you have a fall uniform? What does it consist of?
