Four Creative Hobbies To Take Up This Year

If there is one thing that grown ups are particularly bad at, it’s taking time to unwind and relax. With life being so busy with kids, work, family commitments and trying to be a superstar at all of it, it’s easy to forget about self-care.

Hobbies are important. They give you a creative outlet to show how talented and artistic you can be. They’re an excellent way to relieve your stress and you get the chance to do something that makes your soul sing. Finding the right hobby is the biggest problem that you’ll have, and it’s important that you choose something that you know you’re going to enjoy. Hobbies offer you a feeling of accomplishment and they can teach you so much about yourself. So, shall we talk about four creative hobbies that will take up your time this year? Let’s!

Bullet Journals. You want to do something creative, right? Well, diaries and lists are a hobby for a lot of people, but bullet journaling is relatively new! You can buy these gorgeous bullet journals and use them for all manner of things. You can talk about what you want to eat, your schedule, your goals, your dreams. Bullet journals allow you to be artistic and creative about what you want to do with your life, and you can get it all down on pretty paper!

Painting. We’ve put “painting”, but that’s such a broad term for what you can do with a paintbrush. From oil painting portraits to taking up live painting of models and scenes, you can learn how to watercolour, to put brush to pad and watch the magic happen. You can also equip yourself so that you have everything you need at home. You can learn the techniques of painting and the history of it to truly capture what you want to achieve.

Photography. If you are a shutterbug, you’re going to love the idea of taking up photography full time. Whether you do it for the beautiful photos or you decide to take on some beautiful Spring Backdrops to photograph others, you’re going to have a blast. Learn about the different cameras and lenses and learn about the varying photography accessories you can buy to make your experience the best it could be. This hobby could even turn into a business for you, with party photoshoots and weddings galore from your friends. You can learn to edit photos to enhance the way that they look, and you can do it all with courses or online self-learning.

Making Clothes. People everywhere are aiming to be thrifty and part of that comes with making their own clothes. When you learn to sew fabric with a sewing machine, the world is really your oyster! With the right materials and patterns, you can make entire outfits if you want to, including your own wedding dress one day!

Hobbies offer you so much; all you need to do is find the one that makes you tick and you’re good to go.
