Our Veggie Seeds Are Down + $50 Walmart & EcoScraps Giveaway

This post is sponsored by EcoScraps. Thank you for your continued support in the brands that we believe in!

Since my last garden update, I’ve put all of our veggie seeds down and added on to the surrounding area. In the raised bed, I planted collard greens, kale, lettuce, radishes, carrots, and onions; all of which will do well through the fall. Since I love flowers, I decided to plant a cutting garden along the right side of the raised bed and I may do the same in front of the bed. So far, I’ve planted dwarf sunflowers, marigolds, and tansy flowers. I decided to designate our little galvanized tub for herbs. There, I planted basil, oregano, and rosemary. I also have three grow bags going with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and hot peppers on the patio. These guys will need help with pollinating, so I’ll be using some of these tips to bring in the bees.

Our garden came together with the help of the folks at EcoScraps. They have a whole line of organic and sustainable lawn and garden products, available at your local Walmart. EcoScraps wants to help you jumpstart your gardening projects! One lucky Sophistishe reader will win a $50 Walmart gift card to shop for EcoScraps gardening products! Always struggling against the bugs here in Florida. Determined to stay organic, so invested in lady bugs this year. We will see if it works! :-)

We recently started an organic garden on our balcony and the kids have been loving it. It’s fun to watch their excitement over how fast our crops are growing!

I can’t wait to see the updates! I’ve planted so much that I’m scared that we’ll have TOO much and need to scale back a bit. Looking good ladybug!

You can never have too many crops, haha! I’m sure you’ll do awesome things with the surplus, whether canning or sharing with your neighborhood!
