I am a tad bit infatuated with peppers, even more so with the idea of growing them myself. I only shop for green peppers since the pretty orange, yellow, and red ones are so expensive. Last Saturday, while at Target, I discovered the yummy little peppers in the photo to the left. They were on sale for $2.99, so I had to grab them. I may have been too excited about them, but it’s always the simple things that keep me going. I’ve been enjoying the little peppers on pizza, gyros, and in salads. They are so yummy and I realize that I’ve been really missing out…
So to get my pepper fix, I’ve decided to grow two more varieties in addition to the Orion bell peppers that I’m growing. I ordered Sweet Pickle and Marble varieties from Park Seed which grow in bountiful bushes. They are so pretty, I can decorate with them as well! I’m a huge advocate of decorating with edible plants. It just makes sense. I’m really excited about decorating with these beauties. Do you see the marble peppers? I’ve never seen anything like them… some of the peppers are actually purple!
I can’t wait to have an abundance of peppers growing in my garden. I’m looking forward to lots of salsa, stir frys, and bold dishes. This video from Boar’s Head is inspiring me to grill up some jerk turkey and chipotle chicken. Mmm, the possibilities.
