Holiday Ready Powder Room

holidaypowderroom1_1

I’ve spent the last few weeks decorating our home for the holidays. My latest masterpiece? Our powder room. Any other time of the year, it’s cold and uninviting. Since we’ll probably be having guests over for the holiday, I decided I needed to do something about our troubled out house, er um half bath. Walmart asked me how I prep my home for the holidays and today, I’d like to share how I very easily added some holiday cheer to an otherwise scary space.

I started this project at Walmart, looking for holiday themed bath towels. After an unsuccessful search, I headed over to the kitchen aisle and found the cutest fair isle reindeer towels. I grabbed two in cream and the very last red/multicolored towel and headed back to the bath linens to grab some red drying towels (1 pictured) and a toilet seat cover. I recently read a post that frowned upon the infamous toilet seat cover, but I still have love for them. They add a touch of coziness that I appreciate.

After hanging up my new towels and prettying up the toilet, I decided to hang some shatterproof ornaments from the ceiling. We already had these on hand from a previous decorating project with Walmart. I filled our basket above the toilet with more ornaments and placed a teddy bear figurine next to it. I brought out the BHG wax warmer and sat it on the sink. Now the powder room smells like cinnamon delight. The branch from last year’s holiday card display was the final touch added to the wall. Sidenote: Command Hooks are EVERYTHING.

Are you guys laughing at my photos? I must have been snapping for a good 15 minutes, lol. I tried to show various angles of the room, crouching, contorting and what not. After wrapping up my photography, Jayden walked in and said, “Mommy it looks beautiful in here!” I love how he always acknowledges and appreciates my efforts.

Now that the powder room is all set, I think I’ll finish up our upstairs hall. I’ll be revealing that soon. Stay tuned for that!

As a participant in the Walmart Moms Program, I’ve received compensation for my time and efforts in creating this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
