In the last few years, Walmart has truly impressed me with their sustainability efforts. Years ago, I would have never imagined being able to afford organic groceries or finding them at Walmart of all places. They’ve amazed me as they’ve added natural brands to their shelves like Mrs. Meyers and Wild Oats and continue to provide families with access to products that are both affordable and sustainable.
The Walmart Sustainability Leaders Shop makes it easier to find products manufactured by companies that are making strides towards sustainability. These products are made by companies that have scored highly in Walmart’s Sustainability Index. These leading products are easily identified with a Sustainability Leaders badge on Walmart.com. This particular labeling doesn’t affect pricing; the price for products with the Sustainability Leaders badge doesn’t increase.
What does the Sustainability Badge mean?
The Sustainability badge indicates that the manufacturer of a product is leading their industry in efforts to improve sustainability. Products that are marked with the Sustainability Leaders badge are determined by the supplier’s overall score in that category on Walmart’s Sustainability Index in which they are re-evaluated on a yearly basis.
I tend to gravitate towards eco-friendly brands/products, so seeing a badge would definitely help with my product choices. How about you? Would the Sustainability badge influence your purchasing decisions?

I would have never thought of walmart when thinking about organic or sustainable products. I'm going to have to keep my eye out for these items. So will the products have the badge on them?
