Indoor Winter Gardening With Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL

One of the things that saddens me about winter is not being able to garden. I thrive off of being able to grow beautiful, living things, but when the cold front comes in, killing all of my  green lovelies… well go ahead and cue the SADS. Determined not to let this get me down, I decided to attempt growing peppers indoors. Peppers are one of the pricier vegetables that we use quite often, so I thought I’d try my luck at growing some inside. I placed my pepper plant in our bedroom in front of one of our windows. It’s growing at a slow pace probably due to the shortened days of sunlight. But at least it’s growing, right? I’m excited to grow more edibles, but the only place with a platform in front of a window is where the peppers and betta tank reside.

So what does a girl who needs to garden but cannot use her windows do? She continues wishing for one of those Miracle-Gro AeroGardens, and one day, she is offered the opportunity to review one. True story. Receiving the  AeroGarden 3SL was a dream come true as I’ve been eyeing AeroGarden systems for over a year. When the package arrived, I quickly ripped in and set it up in a dark corner of our kitchen. No problem because this baby is powered by a super bright bulb.

Just like the larger AeroGarden models, the AeroGarden 3SL grows plants 5 times faster than soil using water and nutrients. Score! Being pressed for space, I appreciate its sleek design. Setting up my AeroGarden was a breeze. All it took was positioning a few parts and seed pods and filling it with water and Miracle-Gro’s liquid nutrients. I decided to grow basil and parsley from the pods included with the garden and lettuce from the additional Seed Pod Kit that I received. Positive results are 100% guaranteed so I’m excited to grow and harvest some delicious veggies and herbs.

Each Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL includes one Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit which are available in Genovese Basil, Dill, Chives, Mint, Cilantro, Thai Basil and Parsley. Seed kits for cherry tomatoes, chili peppers, romaine lettuce, petunias and more varieties can also be purchased separately. The AeroGarden 3SL is available in black or white color selections and can be found in 1,880 Walmart stores this holiday season only. Priced at $49.97, the AeroGarden 3SL makes a great gift for the gardener on your list. Use the store locator to find out if your local Walmart has the AeroGarden 3SL in stock.

Stay tuned for my update in the next few weeks! Follow my seedlings on Instagram. 🙂
