Juicy’s Buzz Cut & A Reflection On Growth

Newborn Jayden April 2008

When Jayden was a baby, he went bald. All that was left were bangs and I stressed out about his lack of hair all.of.the.time. “When is it gonna grow back? My baby is bald. Oh noes.”

Eventually, it grew back. And it’s been cut a few times in-between.

Jaxon (aka Juicy) was born with more hair than Jayden and I managed to keep it illustrious for quite some time. Early on, he started rubbing out the left side with his hand and over time, he developed some bald patches from the everyday life as a baybuh.

The right side of his head stayed lush although that’s the side that he lays on. He even had a cute little mullet growing. But his hair had gotten so uneven although you couldn’t tell once brushed down.

It got to the point where he was sporting serious bedhead with patches, so I was brushing his hair nonstop so he wouldn’t look cray.

My, how things change.

Today, at almost 5 months, Jaxon got his first haircut. It was a simple task and he didn’t seem to care. He’s chill like that. Daddy did the cutting and I was on bobble control.

It’s hair. It grows back… healthier and stronger.

In light of Spring, let’s take a moment to do some pruning shall we? So often we let the past dictate our present, hindering the growth of our future. What elements in your life can you take a pair shears to? Have at it and be fruitful!

I finally got to read this post! His hair cut looks good. My son’s hair looks “cray” too but I’m just going to let it grow as much as possible before his 1st bday.

Thank for following me. Also, both of them are so adorable and handsome <3. My son was born with straight hair, it never fell out, but when he got to be close to 1 he got a head full of curls <3.

Cute as pie with or without. Although now he’s got that smooth “I need to rub that head” affect going on. I love that! Can’t resist a smooth head 🙂

Oh my! He is so handsome! 🙂

Sorry about the hair loss.. I know it had to be a bit scary. But you’re right, it’s hair and it will grow back stronger and get healthier.

Thank you! It was more so depressing, lol. I really thought he’d be able to keep most of it. Aw well, hehe.

That was like Aiden until he was about 1-year-old — bald! Then only the middle of his hair grew so he had a mohawk for a long time. LOL. Eventually the sides grew until it was a full head of curly hair, but I recently cut it (we had a lice situation at his school and it FREAKED me out!) and now he is back to a mohawk.

Hahaha. Jayden’s hair evened out around 1 as well. The lice situation would have freaked me out too!

Pruning, lol. That’s a good way of putting it! I just cut Alyssa’s just-beyond-shoulder-length hair up to just above her chin this evening. Sigh. Yes, it’s hair, but it seems like when you want it to grow, it just won’t! (In her case, she *wanted* it shorter.)

I love Alyssa’s new ‘do. That’s the frustrating part about wanting long hair at times. Once you forget about it, it starts growing like weeds.

Oh my gosh, I’m so glad that was his hair and not what I was thinking it was on Facebook. LOL

He looks mighty adorable with his less fuzzy cut.
