Kids Hanging Art Display Wall

kidsartdisplay2

I saw an awesome IKEA hacked art wall that I’ve been planning to do for over a year now. Here, let me show you. Isn’t it so cool?

In the past two years, Jayden has brought home SO many papers between his preschool program and Kindergarten. I know some parents LIVE for these types of things, but all I can see is clutter *cue the horror music*. After a few failed attempts to visit and order from IKEA, I decided to give up… because making the trip or even paying shipping wouldn’t be worth it unless I was prepared to buy a trunk load of stuff. Y’all know how it is. When you go to IKEA, you buy.all.the.things.

Papers continued to pile up in our ottoman storage, so I decided to do some Winter sorting. I made three piles; keep, display, and discard. Tired of looking at the naked white wall in our kitchen, I was convinced that kids art is just what it needed. And I was going to get the job done on the cheap.

I created this kids art display within minutes, using items I already had on hand: hemp twine, small Command hooks, mini clothes hooks, and art of course!

Materials

Hemp twine
Mini clothes pins
Command hooks

Find them at Walmart

Instructions

Position Command hooks on the wall to your liking. Measure hemp twine leaving a few extra inches for tying around the hooks. Tie twine around hooks making a double knot. Clip artwork to twine using mini clothes pins. Boom!

I love how our art display turned out. Jayden is excited to have a special spot for his creations… out of baby Jaxon’s reach. And I’m so happy to have covered the empty wall, adding additional pops of color to our kitchen. It definitely feels like home.

As a participant in the Walmart Moms Program, I’ve received compensation for my time and efforts in creating this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I've always wanted to do this! I haven't been able to find the clear hooks in store, will keep looking.
