Mija Style: Carter’s Baby Girl Fall Lookbook

The cooler temps are upon us and it’s time to start transitioning the kids’ wardrobes for fall. I recently updated baby Akilah’s wardrobe with a few pieces from and I’m so excited about this haul in particular because everything is so stylish and fits her perfectly without having to go down a size! For the longest she’s been two sizes smaller and she’s finally in a size 12 months, going up on the growth chart instead of down. At 13 months of age, she’s our slim thick one with her long legs and mini thunders.

I swear these kids hit growth spurts when we least expect them and we’re always caught off guard. Both of the boys are getting so tall that their pants are starting to flood. I’ll have to pick up some things for them and share them here in the next Mijo Style. But today, it’s all about miss Akilah!

My goal was to create a versatile fall wardrobe curated with pieces that were mature and interchangeable. These are pieces that aren’t your every day . I’d wear them in a heartbeat if Carter’s ever made matching adult sizes. These pieces can also be mixed an matched with each other and her current staples.

Chambray & Southwest

Every little girl needs a little chambray and leggings in her life. Both of these trends as well as the southwest print trend all year long, so this 2-piece set is a great transitional outfit that pairs well with moccasins, sandals, or boots.

Military Chic

Nothing says fall like an olive military blouse. When I saw this 2-piece set, I almost died. It sold out pretty dang fast on the Carter’s website. Can you see why? This is another set that looks great with any shoe and for the chillier temps, it can be paired with a snazzy bomber or denim jacket.

Versatile Bodysuit

Carter’s bodysuits are so versatile for lounging and layering, but there’s something special about the Layered-Look Bodysuit. It’s a bodysuit that looks like a blouse! It pairs well with just about anything; leggings from the sets above, jeans, skirt, or underneath a pinafore dress.

Joggers

The Chambray Southwest Joggers embody all of the trends. Joggers are always hot year ’round. Add some chambray and southwest to the mix? Yeeesss.

Metallic Kicks

Pops of gold, especially shoes are everything right now. The Metallic Crib Shoes add a playful dash of glam to any ordinary casual outfit.

I’m so in love with all of our pieces from Carter’s that I placed a second order for the joggers and gold sneakers above. I also loaded up Akilah’s wishlist with more pretties. Thought I’d include a behind the scenes photo of her photoshoot. This was mid outfit change. I had to act quickly because the sun was setting and she was ready to nurse!
