Mijo & Mama Style: Fall Kicks

IMG_0101

I opened my window one day to the discovery of fallen leaves. It’s that time of the year again, when nature sets itself as the perfect backdrop for portraits. Last Wednesday was school picture day and this year I caved and placed an order for the CD. Last year, I may have forgotten accidentally on purpose. I’m generally not a fan of school portraits and I have a child whose poses can be unpredictable at times. For that reason, I prefer to take my own. Plus, I can compile a variety of creative shots versus a rushed one and done aaaand natural sunlight is just…boss.

The best photos of kids are those where they’re in their natural element. So while the weather is still relatively mild, I’ve been trying to get those last photo opps in before we are forced into hibernation. Yeah yeah photos in snow are nice too, but those photos don’t come without challenge when everyone’s screaming that they’re cold and their noses are dripping something fierce.

Bloopers are fun.

This week, I did a quick fall shoot for Jayden and I got in on some of the shots. As much as I photograph my children, I haven’t been in far enough photos, but this year I think I’ve had a complete turnaround.

The oldest tiny human and I are sporting our latest kicks from Famous Footwear. I’m wearing the Roxy Pepper Boot as an extension of my “Fall Uniform” and Jayden, the Nike SB Mogan Mid 2. I’m into boots this year and these get deserve all the yaaaasss’s. I can pair them with just about another and Jayden can do the same with his fly Nikes.

I cannot believe how much he has GROWN!! So handsome; and of course, you're lovely as always. Since my son is 27 years old, I won't share what he's wearing. It's the same ole boring stuff. You have to admit, once they turn into young men, they're not as nearly cute as the little ones. Haha! PS: Your boots are all the rave!
