I’ve been having fun dressing and photographing the boys this summer… so much that I’ve decided to start an outfit series. I know how frustrating it can be dressing boys so I really wanted to showcase some outfit inspiration for lil’ dudes. Aaand let’s be clear…we aren’t shooting for world’s best dressed, buuuut playful and put together. Hey, we shop clearance, sale, and second-hand so our outfits are very practical. In the event that we come across some residual loot, we may splurge some cool sneaks or a fly hoodie.
So enough explaining. Let’s dive in. I decided to call the series “Mijo Style”. Mijo is a Spanish term of affection often used to address younger boys and sons. We are a multicultural family. The boys are part Mexican, so it’s all good. I love when ideas come together so perfectly. For today’s Mijo Style, we are partnering with Naartjie Kids. Naartjie was founded in 1989 in Cape Town, South Africa. Made of African cotton, Naartjie’s threads are distinctive, affordable, naturally soft, and functional.
Naartjie sent the boys argyle rocker henleys and we love them! I am such a fan of henleys. The round neckline and row of buttons provide more of a mature look. The argyle rocker henley is part of the Geek Rocker collection, combining two great styles; prep and grunge for a fun top.
Jayden and Jaxon paired their henleys with homemade cutoff jeans. The distressed look of the shorts compliment the rocker style of the henley. The boys accessorized with fedoras from H&M and brown shoes. Because earth-tones. Flip flops for Jaxon (I die from tiny feet in flip flops!) and Toms for Jayden (Zulily, holla!).
