Happy Fall, y’all… or is it?
It sure doesn’t feel like fall here in NWI. In fact it feels like the real dog days of summer decided to show up a month late. I’m not one to complain, though, as a gal who thrives in warmer climates. We did get a few chilly days last month and I had. a. meltdown. I’m thankful that in this unusual heat I was able to buy a little more time to come to terms with summer ending. School has been in session for a month and as I nest and prepare wardrobes to welcome sweater weather and all things “spice”, Juicy is still in summer mode wanting to do all the summery things. He’s at home until we put him in another program so he is unfazed and still available to party.
This week, Juicy has been asking to go do “fun stuff”. We’ve been promising him a park visit, aaand putting it off each day. Thursday came around and after dusk, he asked to go do fun stuff. At that point, we felt like we were neglecting our poor middle child, so we hopped in the truck and took him to Valplayso. We love this park for nighttime visits since it’s located in a visible area and is well lit. Jayden, exhausted from a long day at school, decided to catch some z’s in the truck and Kiki was totally down for being Juicy’s partner in play.
Juicy and Kiki had been itching to wear new sneakers Stride Rite sent for fall, so to the park the sneakers went. We were excited to receive Saucony Jazz Lite sneakers since Juicy had a pair of Saucony sneakers that he wore all summer long. The Saucony Lite sneakers are lightweight and flexible, perfect for playtime with energetic kiddos. The classic look of the shoe makes it easy to pair with anything in their little wardrobes. Something to note; the big kid’s Jazz Lite Lace are a snug fit, so I recommend going up two sizes. Juicy is usually a 12 and he’s wearing a 1.
These kids are living their best lives. I mean, what’s better than running through an empty park at night in new sneaks?
The tiniest of the Tatums were all tuckered out and ready for bed after their nighttime play date. Fall may be here according to the calendar, but we’re going to keep on enjoying the spontaneity of summer as long as the warm weather lasts.
