As promised, today, I’m sharing our day trip that we took last month to the Museum of Science and Industry. We were there for the World Premiere of the Robot Revolution exhibit. Little did we know, we were in for a visit jammed pack full of magic that childhood memories are made of. It’s kind of embarrassing that I’ve lived in Chicagoland for 26 years and haven’t been to MSI… not even on a field trip (if memory serves me correctly). For shame, I know.
So our trip to MSI was definitely a discovery in our own backyard that sparked lots of curiosity and ignited a passion for learning. The Museum of Science and Industry is one of the largest science museums in the world. The place is full of hands-on exhibits, making it a great place to take the entire family. Now is an ideal time to visit with the new Robot Revolution exhibit up and running. Plus, there are summer coupons (like this one) going around for discounted admission and of course Illinois residents get a lil’ something off their ticket pricing.
Upon entering the main level, we were instantly captivated by the Science Storms exhibit. The looks on the boys’ faces said it all.
At the YOU! The Experience the boys were able to see the prenatal growth of a baby from 28 days to 38 weeks. Totally fitting since our new bundle is due to arrive in just a few weeks!
Where else can you run through a 727 aircraft and sit in the engine? The Transportation Gallery!
We stopped by The Art of the Bicycle and admired a bike made of cardboard. Somewhere along our journey the boys climbed their way to success.
At the Genetics and the Baby Chick Hatchery we took a peek at some cloned mice and the cutest baby chicks. Juicy let it be known that he wanted to eat them… the chicks.
During our Robot Revolution experience, we were able to interact with a cutting-edge world collection of robots that have been rarely shown to the public. Click here for deets and photos.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the Museum of Science and Industry and suggest that you do the same this summer. Grab your tickets here.
The Museum of Science and Industry, one of the largest science museums in the world, offers world-class and uniquely interactive experiences that inspire the inventive genius in everyone and foster curiosity.
