Some people will complain about receiving money for Mother’s Day, but I am HERE for a little green nestled inside of a heartfelt card. Now, I will say that I have struggled with actually spending the money on myself and not the boys (hello tiny clothes), but I am more disciplined now. Each year, my grandmother in law gives me card with a little something inside to spend on myself and this year, I decided to get a head start on jungle-fying the house. My love for plants is endless as they offer a true sense of comfort when I’m surrounded by them. My goal is to have them everywhere so that all rooms and spaces are cheerful and full of life even after the snow has come ’round once again *twitches*.
With plants, plants, and more plants in mind, I headed to Walmart since they have a huge assortment of plants in the garden department right now. I’ve been longing to get a new dracaena plant since my other one got into a tussle when we moved back in July. I picked up a big beautiful dracaena for only $12 and some change and it’s essentially two plants in one. I also grabbed a few small angel plants from the Mother’s Day display for $3 each and grabbed some potting soil and terracotta pots to repot them in.
I brought my plant stand inside since I now have a clear vision for it. It took months of decluttering and living room revisions to discover that it fits perfectly in a corner next to the sofa and window. I think I can trust the juicy one not to mess with my setup although he’s been using the other dracaena as his own personal sandbox. I’ve moved it to our bedroom and he’s been on good behavior ever since. Let’s hope it sticks. In another nine months, I’ll have to worry about another little one digging in my plants. Mama can’t have nice things. But for now, I’ll enjoy them while I can.
As a participant in the Walmart Moms Program, I’ve received compensation for my time and efforts in creating this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
