I’ve been sneaking off into the cosmetics aisles lately, and during a recent trip to Walmart, I discovered some nail art pens by Sally Hansen. Since it is March, I decided to grab a green pen for a fun St. Patty’s Day nail design. I had visions of painting clovers on my thumbs, but I realized that it would have ended in disaster. So I decided to do something more simple… and on my toes. Even easier!
Materials Used
Essie Ballet Slippers (already had on hand from Walmart)
Sally Hansen Green nail art pen (recently purchased from Walmart)
Sinful Colors Silver and Gold nail art glitters (on hand from that other store that starts with Wal)
What I Did
For full coverage, I painted three coats of Ballet Slippers on my toes. I let the polish dry completely before gently outlining the tips of my toenails with the green nail pen. After allowing the green lines to dry, I traced under them with my silver glitter. Then, I topped the silver glittered and green lines with gold glitter (in-between where the green and silver glittered lines met). I had hopes of a nail design a little more Pintersting, but this is what I got. It’s kind of cute, right?
Remember to seal with a top coat and clean the edges! Good thing I took this photo before I cleaned them up, because I forgot to seal with a top coat and the green lines rubbed off in my socks. I learn something new every day :).
