I’ve been holding off on this post because I haven’t been all that motivated to write. As a creative blogger, I often feel the pressure to always be creative and keep things light. And honestly, up until spring I had been drained of all of my energy and passion due to stress overload and the transition to my least favorite time of the year here in the Midwest; fall and winter.
While everyone was busy ringing in the new year and making all.the.resolutions, I was at home hating all.the.people.and.things and eventually vowing not to spend another year in that space. That said, spring officially starts my new year. A lot of time has gone into working, planning, and hashing for the future and now that I’m in a less vulnerable and more enthusiastic space, I am ready to share the good news that I shared on Instagram back in February… the totally unexpected, yet expected news that we really needed.
We weren’t planning or anything… but we weren’t not planning either. 😉
Now that I’ve survived the first trimester, I’m in much better spirits and I have a little more energy. I am totally here for new mama boobs, hips, and yansh. They will definitely be coming out this summer at the beach. Being pregnant is a time in my life where I am the happiest and feel the most beautiful. I realize that I probably need to address that before we are ten kids and counting.
Since I’m on a minimalism kick, I’m excited to be challenged to make our 900 sq ft, 2 bedroom rental (as of July) work for us. Most people would be clawing their way out and into a larger place, but in reality they just have too much stuff. WE have too much stuff and each month, I find myself tossing something into a black trash bag to give away. I’m at a point in my life where less is more.
Experiences are far more valuable than the stuff. I have met the quota twice for all.the.physical.things that I thought I’d never even have by now. The only thing that’s missing is a home that we actually own… far far away from here where we can thrive and live up to our fullest selves. So yea, our family is growing in more ways than one. I will share snippets of our journey as I am able. Until then, prepare to be #babyspammed!

I have to agree with you - I looked NOTHING like her when I was expecting. I always looked stuffed, hot & sweaty!! LOL!!

SOOOO happy for you!! I've watched how you were with your boys and you are truly Mother Earth. It never occurred to me that both your boys were wearing 'big brother' shirts (DUH!). Thank you for sharing your wonderful news; I look forward to updates!! :-)
