With July 4th fast approaching, I’m looking for quick and easy ways to celebrate the holiday and make it special without much effort. Time is just flying by. Before we know it, baby will be here and school will be back in session. Yikes! With that said, ain’t nobody got time for lengthy projects and recipes. I know a lot of you are busy with summer activities and such so I wanted to share a super simple way to make this upcoming day of independence more festive and fun.
Now is a time that we indulge in all of our favorite cookout foods so it’s always great to serve plenty of fruit as a healthy side. These Patriotic Fruit Kabobs are sure to encourage fruit snacking at your July 4th BBQ celebration. Kids absolutely love them! All you need are your favorite red, white, and blue fruits, some skewers, and you’re good to go! The larger the fruit size, the easier this project will be. I found some ginormous strawberries at Walmart which helped my kabob assembly go by fast.
Patriotic Fruit Kabobs
Ingredients
- 1 Pint of Strawberries, sliced in half
- 2-3 Bananas, sliced
- 1 Pint of Blueberries
- 1 Pack of wooden skewers
Instructions
- For the first five skewers, thread 5 blueberries at the top, then follow with an alternate pattern of slices of bananas and strawberries.
- For the remaining skewers, alternate with strawberries and bananas.
- Serve on a white rectangular platter for a vibrant display.
Notes
I used the shorter 10 inch skewers to save time.
