Fall Burlap Initial Wreath

Fall Burlap Initial Wreath

fallautumnwreath
Today marks the first day of fall and I’m full of mixed emotions. I claim summer as my favorite season of the year, maybe because of being free from routines, being able to get sun wasted, and the ability to grow beautiful and delicious things outdoors. So when the season transitions to fall, I get a little sad. Fall is full of awesome, though. Because sweater weather, comfort foods and drinks, and being lost in beautiful, homey decor. Contending with Christmas, fall is one of my favorite seasons to decorate for. Our fall decor collection is quite extensive from harvest to Halloween and if I’m not careful, it may grow as large as my Christmas collection. I’ll admit, it’s gotten out of hand and I have some purging to do.

Our fall decor is still packed away in our storage closet. I’m not quite ready to tackle that yet so in order to get some fall up in here, I created a little wreath for us. I’m so excited to share it with you guys! It’s so lovely and us. Creating this wreath was such an easy project that will add instant warmth to any front porch. Celebrate with me!

Burlap garland
Jute rope
Wooden letter
White acrylic paint
Hot glue gun

Instructions

Paint wooden letter and let dry. Wrap burlap around wreath form. Dab a few drops of glue on the front and back of the form as you wrap the the burlap around the form. Create wreath picks by cutting your artificial flowers, leaving about and inch or two of wire. Arrange and gently stick flowers into the wreath and attach wooden letter any other embellishments with jute rope. I glued bells on a small pumpkin that I had on hand and added it to the wreath for some flair. Create a ribbon to hang the wreath from out of burlap. I cut my burlap down the middle to create a 2-inch ribbon.

Our new wreath looks amazing against our red door with buttercream trim! I can’t wait to get started on the front yard! Hay bales and mums anyone? As usual, I’ll be sharing my progress here and on the grams. In the meantime, let me know what fall decorating projects you’re working on!

It’s beautiful! I love the combination of burlap, the monogram and colors. And the feather is a nice touch.
