Happy Holidays! Wait. What? Thanksgiving isn’t even here yet! Oh, but you know the routine. Out with Halloween, in with Christmas. This is great for those who like to get their shopping done early. Well welcome, early shoppers, to the first installment of my holiday gift guide! Today, I am excited to share some quirky gift recommendations from UncommonGoods!
UncommonGoods offers creatively designed, high-quality merchandise at affordable prices. Products at UncommonGoods are unique and often never seen before. Uncommon offers something for everyone from geeks to yogis to tastemakers. Uncommon makes shopping entertaining, convenient, and uncommon. They feature artists and designers by highlighting their stories on product pages. Uncommon also puts emphasis on handmade goods, making them easy to find by labeling them a blue hand icon. For a touch of fun, Uncommon posts uncommon information and facts related to certain product categories or featured items on the site. I bet you didn’t know that early candles were often eaten rather than burned. Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci invented the scissors? Me neither.
UncommonGoods is also sustainable and mindful. Uncommon prints catalogs on recycled paper (30% post consumer waste) and all our merchandise is produced without harm to animals. They also donate a portion of each order to non-profit organizations which customers can choose from at checkout. Through their Better to Give Program, Uncommon currently supports: American Forests, Women for Women International, City Harvest, and the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN).
Consider UncommonGoods for your holiday shopping. I’m telling you, you’ll be hooked. Must.buy.all.the.things. Hooked. Best of all your purchases will support people in need. That’s a great excuse to go shopping.
Ok and now for our favorite goods from Uncommon.
Periodic Table Building Blocks (get them here).
These aren’t your ordinary baby blocks. Every baby younger child with geeky parents should have a set. Each block features an element from the periodic table, printed with vibrant non-toxic, child safe inks. The boys absolutely love taking turns stacking them up and knocking them over.
Organic Cotton Teethers Veggie Crate (get them here).
Feast your eyes on the most ADORABLE plush tomato, carrot, mushroom, and green pea. Isn’t the presentation lovely? The veggies are made of 100% organic Egyptian cotton, making them great for teething. Exhibit A.
Come In, Go Away Doormat (get it here)
How clever is this doormat? When I saw it, I had to have it. When entering our home, the rug reads “Come In”, when leaving, “Go Away”. Hahaha! It’s a nice thick rug rug. It sheds a little so I recommend keeping it outside.
Aquafarm (get it here)
Love this fishtank/garden duo. A small fish lives below, herbs grow above. The plants help clean the tank and use the fish excretions as a natural fertilizer. I know firsthand that plants love fish emulsion. When I use it in my veggie garden out back, the plants start growing like crazy. This beauty deserves a post of its own, so stay tuned for a post sharing our experience setting up our new habitat.
