Spa At Home With These Simple Treatments

Image

Self-care is an incredibly important part of life. We need to make sure that every day we do something to care for our mind and body to stay healthy and happy. A lot of us rush through life and never take the time to sit down and smell the roses, and this creates a lot of stress in our minds as well as issues with our skin, hair, and body.

Today we want to take you to a spa… without leaving the house. There are so many great ways to pamper yourself without spending money on spa treatments and today we want to share a few that you can try this week.

Here are our top simple spa treatments that you can do at home.

Relaxing Head Massage

This simple spa treatment will actually give you 2 benefits in one: the massage itself will calm the head and make you feel super relaxed, and the oils we use will stimulate hair growth as well as help the hair maintain a beautiful shine. To create the oil, mix these:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp argan oil
  • 3-4 drops lavender oil (for relaxation)

When you are ready, sit back and apply the oil to your scalp, and massage your head for 5 minutes. When done, leave in for 10 minutes and wash out. It will leave you feeling relaxed, and your hair will be stronger.

Simple Eye Mask

Our eyes are our window to the world outside and it is important that we maintain the health of the eyes to avoid having to wear eyeglasses at a young age. To create this simple eye mask for tired and puffy eyes you simply need 1 tsp aloe vera gel (if you have aloe vera plants you can take this from the inside of the leaves), 1 tbsp grated carrot, and an egg white. Mix together and apply to the under-eye area for 20 minutes at least. While you do this, you can lie back with a couple of cucumber slices or wet tea bags on your eyes to hydrate them. This mask will help hugely with dark circles.

Steam Facial

Whether your skin is naturally dry, oily, or combination… it is important to hydrate the skin and open up the pores to let out dirt and debris. This simple facial treatment can be done at home in 10 minutes and it will open up the pores and allow you to deep clean the skin. Fill a bowl with boiling water, and add a few drops of tea tree oil. Grab yourself a towel, and allow your head to hang over the bowl with the towel over the back of your head to trap in the steam. Do this for 10-15 minutes, whatever feels right for you. Once you have steamed the face, apply a face mask to help draw out impurities.

Soft And Supple Hands

With the recent outbreak of COVID-19 across the world, most of us are washing our hands 5 times more than we would normally, in order to be safe. But washing the hands so much can have a negative effect on the skin of your hands and cause them to dry out, hence today we are looking at a way to keep those digits smooth and supple. A simple mix of 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp sweet almond oil, and 1 tbsp sugar provides a moisturizing scrub that will get rid of dead skin and leave the hands smooth. Rub into your hands for a few minutes and then rinse. Once done, use a lotion to leave your hands hydrated.

Body Scrub

We all know by now that exfoliating the face is an important job and we should do this every few days for the best results… but what about the body? Well, we have a simple coffee scrub to make your whole body feel fresh and vibrant and also reduce cellulite. Take 5 tbsp coffee grounds, 3 tbsp brown sugar, and 6 tbsp olive oil. Mix to form a paste and then apply to the body in circular motions, leaving on for a few minutes. Rinse in the shower for a smooth a supple body.

Happy Feet

If you imagine the most strained part of our entire body, not often would you think of the feet. However, our feet carry our entire weight every single day and we often neglect them. This is why now and again a foot massage and scrub will do the world of good. A simple paste made from olive oil and sugar will bring the feet back to life, and a few drops of essential oils such as lavender will help to relax the body, as the soles of our feet absorb the oils and make us feel less stressed. Finish with a hydrating lotion for supple soft feet.

A Simple Home Manicure (and pedicure)

Sack off the salon and instead use Nailene stick on nails and paint on your favorite colors for a stunning look. We recommend Barry M Rhurbarb topped with Barry M Fortune Teller for a beautiful glittering look that works for all seasons. Make sure when you prepare your nails for stick-ons to use a nail file to slightly rough up the nail to help the glue stick. Having control and painting your own nails can be fun and therapeutic! Once dry, use lotion for happy hands and feet.

Acne Eradicator

One annoyance of adult life is acne. Most of us break out in spots now and again and it can be a stressful thing to deal with. But using our simple honey and turmeric treatment will get rid of spots quickly without using harsh chemicals. Simply mix a tbsp of honey and a tbsp turmeric to form a paste, and then apply this using a q-tip to the blemish. Leave for an hour and the turmeric will reduce swelling while the honey traps the bacteria and deprives it of oxygen. Rinse and repeat once a day until the blemish is gone!

Aromatherapy Shower

Not many of us really take the time to try out aromatherapy. There are many essential oils that benefit the body in different ways such as lavender for relaxing or grapefruit for uplifting. If you want to make the most of your shower today, place 10-12 drops of essential oil on the floor on the shower in front of you and let the steam diffuse it through the room.

Brighten The Face

Papaya is the perfect fruit for brightening the skin making you feel summery. If you don’t have access to papaya where you are, pineapple can be an alternative to this. To brighten the face, blend yogurt, honey, and papaya and apply it as a face mask. Once you have done this, rinse off and finish your face with a smoothing serum and a hydrating lotion for a bright and happy face.

Purify The Face

Now and again the face can become clogged up with dirt and debris, and we need to purify the skin to allow it to breathe and stay healthy and supple. To create a purifying face mask you will want to gather some oats, water, yogurt, strawberries, honey, and avocado… and no, you aren’t making a smoothie! To begin, use a paste of oats and water to exfoliate the skin gently for around 5 minutes. Once you have done this rinse. Blend the other ingredients and apply to the face as a mask. This will be relaxing and the fruit will help to draw out impurities.
