After having three children, we’ve gone through our share of baby products. With each kid, there were items that we found that didn’t need, and there were other items that have been particularly useful. Each of our kiddos have different personalities and needs, so it’s been fun to watch how they’ve responded to different products.
When Jayden, our oldest, was born, we received a baby monitor and couldn’t see it fitting into our lifestyle. We lived in a small home, so his cries were always heard. Plus, we co-slept, I wore him in a wrap and naturally always kept him close. So baby monitors weren’t our thing the first go round, but after having Jaxon, they became extremely helpful.
By the time we had Jaxon, we had moved into a two-story home and we needed to be able to a.) make sure big brother who was four at the time wasn’t interrupting his sleeping, and b.) check on him while we were lounging around or cooking downstairs. It was at that stage in parenthood that our appreciation for the baby monitor grew. The icing on the cake? It was a video monitor – hello!
But, it gets better… or worse, depending on how you look at it. LOL, let me explain…
NOW, we have three kiddos and let me tell you, we wouldn’t survive without being able to spy, ehehm, monitor our tiny humans. Having two to three kids playing together in the same room can get chaotic. In this house, there’s a lot of “he hit me”, “leave me alone”, figuring out who did what, making sure the four year old isn’t jumping off of furniture, baby Akilah isn’t getting clobbered, or feng shuing the place with toilet paper, and other shenanigans.
Ma’am!
The Levana Willow video baby monitor made its way to our December favorites as it’s been helping us keep the mini’s safe and from tearing up the place.
We were already fans of baby monitors with video capabilities, but the Willow is quite impressive. I don’t even know where to begin. For starters, it comes with two cameras, allowing us to be able to fully monitor both bedrooms upstairs and even the hallway… because the cameras not only zoom, they tilt (up and down) and pan (left and right)!
We can also see if the baby gate is open above the stairs, although we can hear whenever the boys open it and are adamant about making sure that they shut it. The monitor’s 50/50 split screen view makes this a breeze.
The monitor features a large 5 inch TOUCH SCREEN! I don’t know why I get excited over touch technology, but I do. I don’t like to fumble with and toggle with buttons, so touch is everything. Willow is packed full of extras including talk to baby or parent two-way communication, temp sensor with custom alerts, custom feeding and nap timer, lullabies and nature sounds, and convenient USB charging.
The Levana Willow is quite the baby monitor and she’s getting a lot of love in the Tatum household. We may not have eyes in the back of our heads, but this system is close enough!
