Summer In Motion Captured In 4K

capturingmemorieslumix

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Panasonic. I received product samples as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

This summer has been what I like to call a snatched summer. This summer we’ve taken it by the horns and snatched it back to make up for last summer. Considering that I’m growing a baby, we’ve managed to do quite a bit from camping, road trips, and beach days. As a photography enthusiast, capturing these moments have been very important to me. Photos, in my opinion, are the most valuable takeaways from events and activities aside from the experiences themselves.

Greg and I often take trips down memory lane looking at old photos and we are reminded of all the fun times we’ve shared together as a family even if we remember some periods as particularly challenging. So while we may be thinking “Such and such year was horrible.” the folders of captured memories say “But look at all the good that happened in the midst of it all!”

The boys have been full of energy this summer so capturing those dashes, jumps, and splashes have come with a challenge. And getting Juicy, the two-year old to pose? It’s a job in itself. How many times have you gone to snap photos of the kids only to get a bunch of these? What type of camera did you use?

This summer, I partnered with Panasonic to capture our summer in motion with the LUMIX G7. The camera has been wonderful at quickly capturing my busy boys. What I love about the LUMIX G7 is that it is lightweight, but still manages to produce superb images just as my big bodied DSLR would. Let’s face it. It’s hot and I’m really pregnant. Ain’t nobody got time to be lugging around heavy equipment on top of daily essentials, which will soon include a diaper bag and a BABY in just a few weeks.

The LUMIX G7 has allowed me to capture action shots that I’ve used as stills, animated gifs, and videos. How? The LUMIX G7 uses 4K technology which allows me to capture the perfect moment by recording a 4K Ultra HD Video up to 30 crisp frames-per-second, and extract my favorite frames into 8-megapixel still images. In this particular shoot the Juicy one was justa wandering ’round and I managed to catch him striking the most hilarious hand-on-hip pose.

Below, I took a bunch of stills until I got the Juicy one to look at me.

Other features I love from the LUMIX G7 include its touch-enabled monitor, built-in wifi, and ability to sync with my smartphone. With the Panasonic Image app, I can use my phone as a camera remote and download photos directly to my smartphone to instantly share on my social channels. This is huge for me since Instagram is my happy space. I love the community there and inspiring others through my photography.

The Panasonic LUMIX G7 has made it easier for me to capture our summer days. It truly is a lovely camera inside and out! That silver trim speaks to my love of vintage!

What a great camera. I shoot with a Canon DSLR 7D and love it but I don't have 4k video capability. That's really cool

I love the pictures you've been able to capture with that camera. A touch enabled monitor is a neat feature, although my nephew would probably delete my pictures accidentally if he got his hands on it. The kid (almost 2) was trying to 'scroll' the screen on my small Panasonic point and shoot and was frustrated it wasn't working.
