Mijo & Mama Style: Summertime Finds From Famous Footwear

IMG_9699

This is what pregnant and tired, last day of camping, hurry up it’s about to rain looks like.

Summer’s just about here and I’ve been stocking our wardrobes with a few essentials. We all know that with summer comes shoe shopping especially for the kids since their feet are always on the grow. See what I did there?

Jayden, being the oldest, is always in need of shoes since he has no hand-me-downs. He’s been due for a new pair of sneakers that would last through the summer and beyond. Converse Chuck Taylor’s are a favorite since they are a classic shoe that pairs well with any outfit. They also get major bonus points for scoring high in the durability department.

While searching for a pair of Chucks for my boy, I discovered the Easy Slip style at Famous Footwear. Jayden had been struggling with laces and getting his feet into the original Chucks, so these bad boys were heaven sent. They went into my cart immediately. After spending most of the school year kneeling my pregnant self down to help with shoes, I’m so over it. Velcro side tabs and bungee laces are saving our life and getting us out of the house faster – hallelu!

Oh, but the shoe shopping didn’t stop there. Mama had a lil’ somethin’ somethin’ left over to get her a pair of shoes. Yes, that’s right!  I got to treat myself to a purdy new pair of sandals that I absolutely adore. Each summer, I swoon over gladiator sandals but never buy any. This year, I added the Granola Gladiator Sandals by Blowfish to my collection.

I chose the Desert Sand style since I’m all about uniqueness and earth tones. I can wear them with just about anything in my closet so they were a great purchase. Look at me justifying spending money on myself. *gives myself the side eye* Walking around for an extended amount of time can do a number on pregnant feet, so I’m all about comfort these days. The footbed on these sandals makes it easy for me to be cute and comfy on our family adventures.

I feel bad that we didn’t include the juicy one in our shoe shop, but he has a few shoe gigs coming soon. :)

This is what pregnant and rested, kids are at the sitter, I took time to accessorize, let's ignore the very first photo in the post looks like.
