Sweet Savory Pies / A Foodie Collection

Disable ad block to view pie collection.

While attending BlogHer Food in 2012, I won a delicious book; Pie by Angela Boggiano. I am ashamed to admit that it’s been sitting on my kitchen shelf for TWO years. Today, I decided to break it out for some inspiration. I’d like to commit to making a pie every month or two. Today, I’m making lemon turnovers to pair with a warm cup of Earl Grey. Next up, empanadillas, possibly.

Typically, when thinking of pies, we think of sweet desserts. Pie features the best of both worlds; pies that are sweet and pies that are savory. Since I’m on a pie kick, I created a Foodie collection featuring sweet and savory pies. I think I am most excited about the Bacon Mac ‘N’ Cheese Pie and Turtles Hand Pies. Among those, I’ve also added a Broccoli Cheddar Pot Pie, No-Bake Mango Pie, Roasted Veggie Pizza Pie, Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie, and Artichoke, Jalapeno, and Bacon Pie. Nice little eclectic collection, huh? Check them out, you may find a new favorite. I’ll be sure to report back with each tried and true. Until then, enjoy this tried and true turnover recipe that I’m using for the lemon turnovers. I simply can’t get enough of them.

P.S. Did you know that Pi Day is on March 14th? Now you do. 🙂
