If you’ve grown up in the Pacific Northwest, you know what an idyllic place it is to live. If you haven’t been so lucky, it’s time to think about taking the plunge and moving here. No, seriously. There’s so much to experience in the Northwest USA. Here are just some of the few reasons that the Northwest is the best place to live in the country.
Diversity
This area is full of culture and diversity and holds something for everyone. Whether you’re into art, music, or exotic cuisine, you don’t have to travel the world to find something new to experience. There are many types of people from different cultures that gather here, especially in big cities such as Seattle and Portland. Here, you won’t just find new experiences, but you’ll find acceptance unlike anywhere else in the country.
Weather
One of the greatest benefits of living in the Northwest is the ability to have four seasons without any of them being overbearing. You might have to get used to a little rain depending on where you live, but this part of the country gets a bad reputation for being gloomy all year ‘round. Here, you’ll get to experience a brisk winter without the intense snowstorms of New England, and warm, dry summers with access to some incredible beach locations so you can enjoy the nice weather.
Nature
The upper West Coast is probably the best place to be when it comes to access to nature. Living in this area gives you convenient access to some incredible national and state parks, such as Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park, and the Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve. If hiking and exploring nature is your thing, there is no better place to live.
Kindness
You’ll probably never find a nicer group of people than the ones who live in the Pacific Northwest. Even in the bigger cities like Seattle and Portland, you’ll find the same kind of hospitality that you’d expect to see in a small town. You can even tell the difference on the road, where drivers are much less likely to slam on the horn and more likely to slam on the breaks for any pedestrian or woodland creature looking to cross the street. The Northwest is also known for its love of the environment, and locals are passionate about keeping our cities clean and eco-friendly.
Activities
In addition to exploring nature, there is so much to do in the Northwest. You might as well start looking for Seattle or Portland houses for sale, because a short trip up this way can’t possibly do this area justice. Take a trip to the Space Needle in Seattle, visit Powell’s Books in Portland, or view some incredible lighthouses on the coast of Oregon. Don’t forget to grab some coffee when in Seattle! As the home of Starbucks, Washington residents take their coffee very seriously and you can find a plethora of amazing, local cups of joe that rival the national chain.
