Make Sure that your Passport is Valid

A lot of travellers who are going to the US will need to have a passport which has at least 6 months left on it. If you are coming from a certain country, then you will only actually need to have a passport that is valid for the duration of the stay. If you want to help yourself then you need to check your government website to see which rules apply to you. It’s also a good idea for you to check the visa rules as well. You need to know your requirements for exiting and entering the country, in accordance with the VWP. If you can enter the country under the VWP then you need to apply for authorisation beforehand.

Buy a TSA Lock

It’s a fantastic idea for you to lock your luggage whenever you are out travelling. If you want to have complete peace of mind, then you need to make sure that you have a TSA-approved lock. All bags are checked, and they are scanned. The people who work there are allowed to break locks to do this, but if you have a TSA lock then you can open them with a master key, meaning that an official won’t have to break the lock in order to access your bag. Know the Rules Regarding Transport

If you have an international flight that will take you through the US, then you will need to clear US customs. Even if you are connecting to another domestic flight in the US, your first port of entry will be where you go through customs. There should be at least two or three hours in-between flights because you need to allow for the re-checking of luggage, immigration and customs as well.

It doesn’t matter whether you are an international traveller or whether you are a domestic traveller because a transfer is one of the best ways for you to get from the airport to your final destination. 95% of the US have cars, and for this reason, public transport is often limited. The roads can be very busy and in some instances, hard to navigate. If you want to get around this then booking a transfer is certainly the way to go.

If you are an international visitor, then never make the mistake of using your phone data when you are in the US. If you have a mobile plan that allows the use of data abroad then great, but if you don’t then you may find that you end up spending way more than you want on your phone bill.
