Want to Host a Family BBQ? Here’s How you Do That

Do you want to make sure that your next family gathering is the best one yet? If so then you have come to the right place. This guide will show you how to make the most out of your event, so you can ensure everyone goes home with a full stomach and a smile on their face.

Condiment Station

Setting up a condiment station will mean that everyone can help themselves. It also saves a lot of space on your dining table. If you do not have space for another small table, then make sure that everything is on a nice, presentable serving tray. A lot of this comes down to the type of BBQ food you are serving. You will ideally want to include ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. Gherkins, onion, tomato and cheese are all very good options as well. If you want to step things up to that next level then why not try your hand at homemade guacamole or even houmous? If you do this then you will soon find that it’s easier than ever to impress your guests.

Create A Bar

Whenever you host a garden party or a BBQ, it helps to make sure that you have a bar area. If you have the space then having a separate bar is the best way for you to free up room and to also make sure that everyone has somewhere to sit. To keep cans and bottles cool, you will need a bucket filled with ice. If you don’t have one then there is nothing wrong with this, use a wheelbarrow instead! This is a rustic idea but it is a great way for you to make sure that there is plenty of space for everyone’s drinks to go. If you host a lot, creating an outdoor kitchen could be a good idea.

Play Music

Although you do have to consider your neighbors, having background music is the best way for you to create a level of ambience at your garden party. Try and create a playlist so you don’t have to keep changing it all the time. Ask your guests what their favorite songs are, ahead of time as well. The weather cannot always be relied upon when it comes to garden parties, so it helps to make sure that you have a parasol set up to protect your speaker and sound equipment.

Napkins

BBQ food is messy. For this reason, you need to make sure that you have plenty of napkins out. If you don’t have enough napkins for everyone then you will soon find that your guests end up having a hard time and this is the last thing you want. Try to avoid paper plates. Not only are they wasteful, but they are also not good for supporting heavy food, such as ribs or big sausages. The plates may bend and send your food all over the floor, which would be a disaster if you have a lot of people to cater for.
